We had a wonderful visit last week from Aidan Dockery who is a historian and storyteller working on behalf of the Heritage Council. We all had fun listening to stories and information on topics such as World War One, Irish immigration and the Great Famine. We also got to look at lots of memorabilia from Aidan's personal collection including pictures of his uncle who was killed in the Great War. Another highlight was to see and touch the gas mask that was almost 100 years old.
