In order to promote literacy and have some fun to mark the last day in school before the Halloween break we are holding a Book Character Fancy Dress Parade on Thursday October 26th.
All the children from Junior Infants to Sixth Class are invited to come to school dressed as their favourite character from a book they’ve read.
The emphasis of this fun event is on homemade rather than shop bought costumes and the boys and girls have already been told that prizes will be awarded for the most imaginative costumes. I would encourage all children to participate in this occasion and be ready to share their love of reading with others.
